As we move into flu season, it is important that Pasadena residents and our neighbors throughout the San Gabriel Valley and surrounding communities take steps to guard against the flu. As the community’s leading hospital for 126 years, Huntington Hospital is pleased to offer free flu shots at various locations throughout Altadena, Pasadena and South Pasadena, starting October 3 through November 17, 2018.

The standard vaccine is for adults 18 years and over, and for children 9 -17 years with parent/guardian present for consent. Unfortunately, we cannot offer the vaccination to those with:

• An allergy to eggs or previous influenza vaccine

• A history of Guillain-Barré syndrome

• A serious illness or fever on day of vaccination

Our flu shot clinics offer the standard quadrivalent seasonal flu vaccine that is widely available. It protects against four strains of the influenza virus, including A (H1N1), A (H3N2), B (Victoria lineage) and B (Yamagata lineage). Our single dose vaccines do not contain Thimerosal preservative. Pregnant or nursing mothers can receive this vaccine.

The standard vaccines are free to the public and no reservations or appointments are required. Please note there is a limited supply of vaccines for each clinic.
