On April 10, 2018, members of the National Charity League (NCL) Juniors of San Marino threw a “baby shower” at their recent meeting at Huntington Hospital to benefit the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Members gathered new preemie outfits – onesies, socks and handmade caps and supplies – all to be provided to the hospital’s NICU families at quarterly baby showers. The NCL Juniors also provided a generous donation to Huntington Hospital, which also supported the purchase of a new Giraffe Incubator for the hsopital’s NICU.
“In some instances, a baby might arrive early and spend time in our NICU, which doesn’t give families much time to have baby showers of their own,” says Brenda Burke, parent coordinator, neonatal intensive care unit, Huntington Hospital. “We are so grateful for the support of NCL Juniors. Their generous donations of clothing and supplies help our families not only feel supported during their stay at the hospital, but also when they return home with their babies.”
