Suzie Kline, Ph.D., N.P., L.Ac., C.H.

Suzie Kline

Dr. Kline is an integrative nurse practitioner and researcher, trained in both Western and Eastern medicine. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Nursing from UCLA and received her Ph.D in Chinese herbal Medicine and Acupuncture from American Liberty University. She has been practicing nursing and acupuncture over 23 years.

In addition, she has completed a two-year fellowship training in Evidence-based Integrative Medicine at UCLA Center for East-West Medicine. She is a certified holistic health counselor, graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, who has extensive knowledge in various diet theories and supplements. She is a also homeopathic practitioner, trained by the Center for Education and Development for Homeopathy (CEDH). She also studied Functional Medicine at Institute of Functional Medicine that has an emphasis on addressing root causes rather than diseases and symptoms. Her clinical focus is on holistic approaches to cancer by incorporating the best elements of both conventional and complementary Medicine. She is a certified lymphedema therapist and educator who offers integrative lymphedema treatment to those who not only suffer from lymphedema but also would like to prevent lymphedema.

Dr. Kline is a principal investigator who has been conducting studies on Lymphedema Prevention and Post Traumatic Growth after Cancer.

A key element of her clinical practice is to promote lifestyle changes, which are personalized based on one’s unique body, culture, belief, preferences and personal goals. She specializes in managing various pain conditions, lymphedema after surgery/radiation therapy, complications from chemotherapy and radiation therapy, menopausal symptoms from hormone therapy, digestive issues, insomnia, opiate/post-surgical ileus, peripheral neuropathy and mood disorders, e.g., depression, anxiety and PTSD symptoms.

Pierre-Etienne Vannier, M.Sc., C.Ht.

Pierre-Etienne Vannier

Pierre-Etienne Vannier, MSc., CHt., is a Mind-Body Practitioner and a Program Development Specialist, specialized in trauma recovery and resilience building through nervous system regulation. He has been collaborating with Huntington Health Cedars Sinai Hospital since 2014 where he designs and facilitates mind-body programs for cancer patients and cancer center staff. He was co-investigator in a clinical research focusing on fostering post-traumatic growth among cancer survivors and taught pain management to HH nurses. He facilitated group sessions for staff and various support groups at Huntington, Arcadia Methodist Hospital, Adventist Health Hospital, UCLA Center for East-West Medicine, South Central Family Health Center, etc.

He is a Community Resilience Model (CRM) Trainer and a Trauma Resilience Model (TRM) Facilitator with the Trauma Resource Institute (TRI). He completed training as a Resilience Toolkit Facilitator for Lumos Transforms, and certified as a Tension and Trauma Release Exercises (TRE*) Practitioner. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Hypnosis Practitioner Training Institute. His community work includes volunteering with organizations supporting low-income populations, cancer patients, torture victims, and people living with HIV/AIDS. He also trained field hospital volunteers and health practitioners in Cairo, Egypt during the Egyptian Revolution. He supports clients worldwide through online sessions. For eight years, he worked with the United Nations Development Program to support people living with HIV/AIDS in the Arab world.

Marina Hsiao

Marina Hsiao

Marina Hsiao is a certificated Massage Therapist in California. She has been a massage therapist since 2006, and trained in both the USA and Taiwan. She also received her Oncology Massage Certificate, Aromatherapy for Cancer Care, and an Oncology Setting certificate from the Institute Of Integrative Oncology.

She was a registered nurse and worked in the Oncology/Post-Surgery department for four years in Taiwan. After four years of nursing experience she went back to school and earned her bachelor of science in Agriculture from National Taiwan University, also Certificate of Lymphedema and Physiology and Microcirculation of the Lymphatic System from Academy of Lymphatic Studies.

She is very passionate about helping people on their healing journey and creating a healthy balanced life by providing individual/unique massage as well as educating her clients on self-care. Her specialties include Oncology Massage, Lymph Drainage techniques, Acupressure, Lomi Lomi, Chakra opening, Yoga Stretching, Face Meridian/ Lymph Massage and Aromatherapy. Her knowledge and experiences help her selected the appropriate massage techniques for each individual.

Sandi Chau, L.Ac.

Facilitator, Beat Cancer Thru Drumming

Sandi Chau

Sandi Chiu, L.Ac., is the lead facilitator for Beat Cancer Thru Drumming Workshops. She obtained a Socio-Emotional Arts (SEA) certificate, including the Beat the Odds® drum facilitation through UCLArts and Healing to help develop and facilitate programs maximizing socio-emotional benefits of art experiences. Sandi played the piano for over 10 years and taught children music through rhythm, sounds, and movements on the weekends. She practiced as an acupuncturist at UCLA and taught stress management classes at the Venice Family Free Clinic and traditional Chinese Medicine-inspired self-care workshops to the community. She maintains a part-time Chinese medicine practice in Arcadia and West Los Angeles and pursues a Ph.D. investigating how Chinese medicine and self-care can restore health for breast cancer survivors.

Many of the physicians who have medical staff privileges to practice medicine at Huntington Hospital are independent physicians, and not employees or agents of the hospital. These independent physicians bill separately for their services. You should contact your physician to determine their status and billing practices.
