Imaging & Radiology in the Right Place at the Right Time
“As Chairman of Radiology, I’m committed to ensuring that our imaging services are available everywhere in the hospital. From our CT Scanner in the Emergency Department, which ensures no time in wasted transferring emergency trauma or stroke victims, to portable X-ray machines that allow our doctors to assess situations quickly wherever they are, having enough machines and placing them correctly can really improve outcomes.”
Christopher G. Hedley, MD
We use latest imaging technology to support complex intervention and obtain the best outcomes. Our CT scanner is one of the fastest in California. We also feature a biplane imaging unit in our angiogram suite, ensuring we are ready for neurological interventions without having to transfer patients to other facilities. Additionally our wide-bore MRI machine features a significantly larger opening than a traditional MRI machine, reducing patient anxiety.

Preparation for Imaging
How you should prepare for your visit will vary depending on the type of test you need. In advance of some procedures, for example, you will need to restrict food intake. Your physician will provide you with specific instructions in advance. Please be sure to follow his or her instructions carefully.
When coming to the hospital for an imaging or other radiology procedure, we ask that you leave your jewelry and other valuables at home. Please wear comfortable clothing with no metal or zippers. Depending on the procedure, you may be asked to remove some or all of your clothes and to wear a gown. You may also be asked to remove jewelry, eyeglasses and any metal objects or clothing that could interfere with imaging.
For some procedures, you will need to remain in the hospital for a few hours after your procedure. In addition, you may need to arrange for someone to drive you to and from the hospital. Please be sure to check with your doctor in advance regarding any special scheduling or transportation requirements, so that you can complete your appointment.
