We serve pediatric patients of all ages, from day-old infants 18-year-olds in our 25-bed pediatric unit, with age-appropriate care and sensitivity for each child’s individual needs.

Our board-certified hospital-based pediatricians are in the hospital 24 hours a day, available to provide ongoing care for your child. In addition, our in-house physicians work closely with each child’s primary pediatrician, to ensure an optimal continuum of care.

Contact the Pediatrics Department with any questions at (626) 397-5144.

For Healthcare Professionals: Minimally invasive surgery

Huntington Hospital provides the most minimally invasive surgery available. Physicians interested in minimally invasive procedures can contact a physician at Huntington Hospital to discuss the available surgical options for a child.

Huntington Hospital’s pediatric surgery team provides a comprehensive range of services to infants, children, adolescents and young adults with surgical needs. Areas of surgical expertise include general, orthopedic surgery, PDA ligation and reconstructive surgery. Whenever possible, we look to perform the most minimally invasive surgery available.

Minimally invasive surgery is a way of performing surgery using smaller instruments and smaller incisions than traditional surgical methods. The goal of minimally invasive surgery is to perform operations through very small incisions. Minimally invasive surgery offers many advantages, including faster healing, shorter hospital stays, less pain, and reduced trauma to normal tissues. Technological advancements allow surgeons to do many surgical procedures in a minimally invasive manner. Instead of traditional incisions, which may require weeks for complete healing, minimally invasive procedures use instruments that allow physicians to see inside the body and perform the needed procedures with only small incisions for more rapid healing.

The technology is changing rapidly, allowing for more complex conditions to be treated using minimally invasive techniques. Families and physicians interested in minimally invasive procedures can meet with the pediatric surgery team at Huntington to discuss the options available and see what options are appropriate for a child.

Service is provided 24-hours a day and includes diagnosis, consultation, management and follow-up care administered by a highly-experienced team of pediatric surgeons, pediatric anesthesiologists and nurses especially trained for pediatric care.
