Inpatient Nutrition Services
Our inpatient nutrition group provides unit-based, personalized nutrition assessment for all inpatients with any nutritional health risk.
Clinical dietitians develop and recommends a nutrition care plan that is in alignment with the patient’s specific health needs. Areas of focus may include, but are not limited, to malnutrition, diabetes, congestive heart failure, bariatric surgery, stroke, and kidney failure. The clinical dietitian monitors adequacy of nutrition intake and tolerance to prescribed diet, recommends nutrition support or supplementation when needed, works with patients to assist in the understanding of nutrition goals and provides educational materials for lifestyle changes as needed. Additionally, the clinical dietitian will refer patients to outpatient nutrition counseling for ongoing assistance and support in adhering to the prescribed diet. The goal of the clinical dietitian is to improve patient outcomes from admission to beyond discharge.
