Here for You

Our mission is simple: build a healthier community. It’s what we’ve been doing for over 130 years, and today we’re doing it in more ways than ever before.

Safest Place to Have Your Baby

Safety is key when looking for a place to give birth. At Huntington, we always plan for the unexpected. When looking for an obstetrician (OB), make sure they deliver at a hospital like ours that is well-prepared to handle all possible complications. We created this safer birth flyer, to let you know what questions are important to ask when choosing an OB. Huntington Hospital is the safest place to have your baby, your way.

Question on paper: Is your pregnancy high risk? Check yes or no.

24/7 Care for Pregnant Women

24/7 laborists

Our laborist program ensures 24 hour a day, 365 day a year board-certified OB/GYN physician support for you and your baby. When literally a matter of minutes can make a life-saving difference, our laborist program offers peace of mind for our families.

24/7 obstetrical anesthesia

Our select group of board-certified anesthesiologists are proficient in all areas of modern techniques of obstetrical anesthesiology. They are also trained to deal with unexpected emergencies and medical complications.

Perinatal High-Risk Unit

We provide comprehensive care to women who are experiencing pre-term labor or other pregnancy-related complications.

Most pregnancies progress smoothly, but some conditions may increase the possibility for complications during your pregnancy and delivery. If you experience a complication, Huntington Hospital’s Perinatal High-Risk Unit includes twelve private rooms and features a skilled staff, who are specially trained to care for high-risk patients.

A maternal-fetal medicine specialist, who is a physician that specializes in high-risk pregnancies, is available 24/7. Our specialists are available for consultation with your obstetrician and the labor and delivery staff to coordinate the safest and healthiest birth for you and your baby. Mother and fetus are monitored 24 hours a day to ensure that their health is not compromised.

Some mothers stay in the high-risk unit for several weeks until the time of delivery and others for just a day. Regardless of your length of stay, you will be cared for and educated about the skills necessary to cope with a high-risk pregnancy. The high-risk unit is adjacent to our Family Birth Center in case the need arises for an emergency delivery.

      Obstetrical Emergency Department (OB-ED)

To provide the timeliest care for expectant mothers, our OB-ED is an emergency department area dedicated solely to pregnant patients. Patients are evaluated by our skilled laborist physicians rather than the traditional nurse-led phone triage found in many hospitals. This emergency care dedicated solely to obstetrical patients is available 24/7.

      Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Huntington Hospital offers beyond advanced care in our Level IIIB NICU for babies born prematurely or with medical conditions. Our NICU provides the highest level of neonatal intensive care available in the San Gabriel Valley. Learn more about our expert neonatal care with a compassionate touch!
